Japanese Haku Maki (1924-2000) Woodblock Print Original Signed Limited Ed
This limited edition is numbered 4/105 and titled by the artist "Poem 69-32", hand signed along the bottom right and has the artist's red seal. It looks to be triple matted and it's behind glass in a very nice beveled wood frame. The exposed area of the print measures; 18-1/4" x 13". It's in overall very nice condition and there are no odors. The print has some age toning and the back paper as some tears. The piece is not dated but the back retains the original foil label from the Frame shop in Madison, Wi. And this frame shop was at that address before relocating, until 1974. Haku Maki became famous by using old Chinese and Japanese kanji characters and refining them into abstract compositions of archaic look. Thank you for supporting our small business!
